Week 8 - Website 4

This article was also up to date (2008) and in some parts took an ‘’affectionate’’ approach to the young natives and their work. However is did generalise natives to stand for everyone who is young using technology and made statements implying that every young person did the same thing and performed the same tasks. For example it said ‘’their fingers tap furiously on tiny keys, their eyes and ears fixated on moving images on sound’’, this may be true for some, but not for everyone surely? The words ‘furiously’ and ‘fixated’ help to perhaps exaggerate the person’s thoughts as well. This continued through the text with more references to a ‘generation weaned on the paper-free, wireless world spawned by technologies advances’ which I believe should be criticised as apparently the whole ‘world’ is affected by this. Are they?
